Mrs. Namakau Mundia Ntini is the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) of Zambia. She has been with the Authority since 2009, building a distinguished career through various roles in both Pensions and Insurance Supervision, providing a strong foundation for her leadership of the regulation and oversight of the sector.
In her role as Registrar and CEO, Mrs. Ntini provides strategic leadership to the supervision of Zambia’s pensions and insurance industries, contributing to the strengthening of regulatory frameworks and the promotion of confidence in the financial system. Her work reflects a strong commitment to sound governance, consumer protection, and the sustainable development of the sector.
Mrs. Ntini, is passionate about financial inclusion and has played a key role in advancing national financial education and inclusion initiatives in Zambia. She served as Chairperson of the Financial Education Working Group that developed Zambia’s first National Strategy on Financial Education under the Financial Sector Development Plan (FSDP), led by the Ministry of Finance. Since its development, the strategy is now in its second phase and has continued to guide initiatives aimed at improving financial literacy and inclusion across the country. She also served on the Drafting Committee, supported by the World Bank that developed the 2017–2022 National Financial Inclusion Strategy.
She has worked closely with government institutions and development partners on policy-focused initiatives aimed at improving financial literacy, expanding access to financial services, and enhancing consumer awareness across the country.
She lives by the mantra “Show up, Step up, Pray up,” a simple but powerful principle that defines her leadership journey and guides her daily work. She remains committed to advancing a stable, inclusive, and well-governed pensions and insurance sector that serves the interests of consumers and contributes to Zambia’s broader economic development, through strong regulation, stakeholder collaboration, and effective leadership.
Mrs. Ntini is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (FZICA). She holds a Master of Science in Finance (Financial Sector Management) from the University of London.
