Mohan is a member of the DBSA’s Group Executive Committee, with accountability for deal origination and client relationship management in South Africa and the rest of the African continent. The Origination/Coverage division works closely with the DBSA’s clients to develop targeted solutions bringing together the DBSA’s product offering composed of technical assistance, project development and long term financing. His teams cover the energy, transport, ICT, water/sanitation, education/health and municipal sectors.
Mohan is passionate about the sustainable development, with the goal of utilising infrastructure to lead economic and social development and regional integration. Mohan is a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Advisory Council, the OECD Senior Advisory Group on blended finance and leads the Operating Group for the WEF-OECD Sustainable Development Infrastructure Programme Africa Hub. He helped to found and currently leads the SADC DFI Infrastructure Working Group. He also lectures at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, focusing on development finance. Prior to the DBSA, Mohan was a management consultant with Bain & Company and Partners in Performance, where he served as a Principal.
Mohan holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an MSc in Global Finance earned from a joint programme at the Stern School of Business at New York University/Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He also completed a BA (Honours) in Economics and Applied Mathematics from Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.
