Imrith Ramtohul graduated with honours from the University of Cape Town, with a Bachelor of Business Science degree. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, has earned the right to use the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement™ (CIPM) designation and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Over the past 20 years, he has developed skills in portfolio management, asset allocation, accounting, research and financial analysis.
Imrith is currently the Senior Investment Consultant at Aon Hewitt Ltd (Mauritius). He oversees the firm’s investment consulting practice. He assists local and foreign pension plans in their long term investment planning, asset allocation and strategies. He moreover helps clients in the analysis of investment proposals as well as in the selection and evaluation of investment managers and funds for most asset classes. At end-Dec 2018, scheme assets of Aon Hewitt Ltd investment consulting clients exceeded Rs 160 billion (around USD 4.7 billion).
Prior to Aon Hewitt, Imrith was the Head of Investment at Mauritius Union Group. He also previously worked at the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and at subsidiaries of South African banking groups Rand Merchant Bank and Nedbank.
Imrith was a Member of the CFA Institute Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) Asset Owners Subcommittee between 2012 and 2017. He also serves on the Board of Directors of a number of companies and has been cited in a number of media outlets. He is a Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) Registered Trainer since October 2012 and lectures finance on a part time basis.
During 2017, Imrith was invited by the President of the Republic of Mauritius to serve as Assessor on the ‘Disposal of Britam Holdings Ltd shares’ Commission of Inquiry.
