Dr. Kofi Adjepong-Boateng CBE

Kofi is a founding partner of Pembani Remgro Infrastructure Managers and serves on the Investment Committees of PRIM’s two funds. He is also a board director of Helios Fairfax Partners Corporation, an investment holding company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

In addition to his business interests, Kofi holds academic research positions. He is the Associate Director, Centre for Financial History, University of Cambridge, and a Research Affiliate, History Section, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also serves as a Trustee of the UK’s Royal Economic Society and a Trustee of the Council of Management of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. NIESR is Britain’s longest established independent research institute. Kofi is also a Distinguished Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto.

In 1995, Kofi co-founded First Africa as a corporate advisory firm, in joint venture with S.G. Warburg & Co., then the UK’s largest merchant bank. Standard Chartered Bank acquired an interest in First Africa in 2006 and completed a full acquisition of the business in 2009,

whereupon Kofi joined Standard Chartered as a Vice Chairman. In 2012, Kofi stepped down from Standard Chartered to become part of the partnership which founded PRIM.
