Trade & Development Bank

Established in 1985, the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB), formerly the PTA Bank, is a fast-growing multilateral, treaty-based and investment-grade development finance institution, with assets of US$ 6 billion. The Bank’s mandate is to finance and foster trade, regional economic integration and sustainable development through trade finance and project & infrastructure finance.

With the consistent delivery of high levels of development impact alongside attractive financial returns, TDB has positioned itself as the ideal partner to intermediate global and regional capital into the region it serves.

As a result of TDB’s work, more than half of the Bank’s portfolio now directly and indirectly contributes to SDGs. TDB currently has principal offices in Mauritius and Burundi, regional offices in Kenya, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia, and a country office in DR Congo.
