PIAfrica lead Virtual Conference gathered almost 300 participants!
The 4th Pension Funds and Alternative Investments Africa Conference gathered so far 282 participants and 60 representatives of Pension Funds and Wealth Funds from 25 countries, during the first 3 webinars and the 2-day lead virtual conference. The 2021 edition brought new faces from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon, Seychelles, and Madagascar, and a total of 59 speakers across 14 sessions and 2 masterclasses over the month.
Mahad Ahmed, DM and co-founder of AME Trade, said during the Opening Ceremony that “diversification for pension funds is really a must” and Bronwyn Knight, CEO at Grit Real Estate Income Group mentioned “the importance of the pension funds (PF) across the African continent and the importance of PF for investments”.

PIAfrica Month is still ongoing with webinars and masterclass training sessions, taking place until the end of March, to discuss the current scenario of the Pension Funds & alternative investments markets.
The first executive day of the lead conference included sessions of debate focused on: alternatives of investment, relaunching economies through infrastructure investment models, and the private equity and venture capital’s role in catalyzing sustainable investment. The second day included sessions of debate that covered the role of regulatory authorities and capital markets in fostering developmental impact, structuring and risk mitigation, repatriation of capital, exchange controls, contract enforcement, and on moving beyond traditional investment income sources.
